Highlights Only 5.5% of Brazilian soccer players surveyed completed higher education. Of these 179 athletes, 67% completed high school. ABSTRACT: Objective: To correlate CrossFit-related injuries with previous sedentary lifestyle, and to investigate other factors potentially associated with higher rates of injury among practitioners. ABSTRACT We report a rare case of an unstable flexion-distraction spine fracture with ligament involvement that occurred during a professional female soccer game. There were no neurological déficit. The patient had a painful midline gap which suggested ligamentar injury that was not immediately recognized. Despite that, proper immobilization and referral to hospital for further evaluation avoided additional spinal cord damage. ABSTRACT Intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring was performed in a patient by somatosensory evoked potential, motor evoked potential and free-running electromyography with intraoperative stimulation.
