Holds a MD from the Universidade de São Paulo, where he also completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency and obtained a Ph.D. degree. He was a research fellow at King´s College Hospital, London, and Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of São Paulo, Brazil. Currently, his areas of interest include Obstetrics and mainly high-risk pregnancies and fetal medicine.
